It vents well and can be very private or totally screened off yet enjoy great views. We loved the tent, until… we camped by a lake in Ga, north of Atlanta. It unfortunately rained on us two days pretty much straight. The tent leaked from the roof, right through the rain fly. We had to tape plastic sheets all around it and throw a large sheet over the top so we could sleep without having heavy drips hit our faces. You have plenty of mesh around and if you have to keep all the windows and doors closed, you still have a large vent on its narrow side, see the picture below.
